Your cart is empty.304 stainless steel is a general-purpose steel alloy that can be easily welded or formed. It has a high resistance to heat and corrosion, and will respond well to hardening by cold working. Made up of 8 percent nickel and 18 percent chromium, it has good oxidation resistance when used in temperatures up to 1,600°F. This 304 stainless steel meets ASTM A276 specifications.

Other than the above title, it is a bar of metal. The buyer should be aware that this piece of metal has been cut using a shear. The result is that the bar is convex, curved outward on one side with edges pinched to under 1/4” on the convex side. Similarly, the opposite side is concave, with the surface curving inward and the edges above the surface in the middle. The 8” bar was also “crowned” end to end with a slight curvature. So, if you need precise edges, a full 1/4” in thickness, and a full 1” width, look elsewhere. Unless you have a surface grinder, be prepared for hours of sanding/grinding and something less than the advertised dimensions. I would have expected sheared ends on a piece of “mill run” steel, but NOT sheared edges. By the time I had trued up and surface ground this bar square and flat it measured. 0.970 wide, 7.970 in length, 0.230 in in thickness.

I ordered 2 pieces only received one in package, the other one was reported to be sent separately. don't know why it certainly could have been put in the packageing envelope. I am not returning eventhough I am very disappointed. The time needed to return it is too arduous. Education is expensive. Will research before purchasing again

This stainless is for the bolsters on my full tang fixed blade knife , should compliment the Damascus blade beautifully!
