Doesn't pick up enough of a sample. It's sharp at the "teeth". The sections come apart in the water machine bag.

This is a stainless steel aerator. Effectively it’s a sharp metal stick about the size of a chopstick with a ball on the end for easy grip. I have some older potted plants that have soil compression, and this is a good way to break up the hard dirt some so water and air can get in there. I’ve also used it on some repotting I’ve had to do, which involved swapping out all the soil because of fungus gnats. I love that it comes in several pieces that can be screwed together as needed and disassembled for easier storage.
