These have stayed in place while the icicle Christmas lights have been up. They were however very hard to get the cords thru the outer small loop - especially with frozen fingers working in the rain. the icicle lights I was hanging have 3 thin wires and every single clip was a struggle to get them into the clip.The clips however were very easy to hook onto the front edge of the gutter!when the lights are taken down, the clips will stay on the string!

It has 150 clips that you can use outdoors and indoors Christmas lights. I have used for my Christmas tree and my outdoor lights. Definitely recommended.
