I'm always cautious about metal in my paints. Last thing I want to do is have them rust and that get into the paint. So the first thing I did was see how well they would attract to a magnet. Stainless steel isn't supposed to be strongly attracted to a magnet, so usually the first thing I try when the item being stainless steel is important. These had a little attraction, but not that much, so similar to other stainless steel items I've gotten. The I dropped one in some water (standard tap water) an let it sit for days to look for any signs of discoloration or actual rust. After several days I took it out and looked it over and it looks the same as the rest.I'll probably try a couple in one of my less expensive paints first to see if there is any corrosion with that. So far it all looks good, but usually it takes a lot more time to be sure.
