We needed room between our tow vehicle and our motorhome, so we bought this extension prior to a long from from SOCAL to Washington State. It seemed to work ok, but mid-way through, the extension snapped in half as we were entering an RV park! Thankfully, we weren't going up or down a steep grade! This seems to be made with cheaper steel. My advice: Know what you're towing and how much load is being placed on your extension! I've since learned my lesson, and I will NEVER again skimp on quality when lives are potentially at risk! Had this snapped while we were at full speed, or on a grade, this could have been a real disaster!

This was very easy to install on my lawn tractor to allow me to hook up the cart while the bagger was still in place. It's heavyweight and fits great. There has been no wear and tear and it does its job well through numerous loads in the cart.

Didn't get to use this until after the return perior elapsed. My bad. Sure the smaller end fits into the 2" receiver on my 2018 Chevy pickup, but the locking pin hole in this extension does NOT line up with the hole in the truck's receiver. It's off by about 1/4", which is enough that you can't get the locking pin in at all. Find a good brand name item and avoid the junk.

I ordered this to use with a hitch mounted hand crank winch. The only insert I could find that worked at all with a hand crank winch did not provide enough bumper clearance to allow the hand crank to make a full rotation. I only needed an about a 3" extension. Yes, there are short extensions available than this but hey, I got this (almost) free. If you actually need a full foot and a half extension, this is it. For my needs, it does the job and has the minor benefit of allowing my tailgate to be down while cranking. Still the price tag of 66 USD is ridiculous, hence the 3 star rating. Compared to other hitch inserts, I believe this should cost around 20-25 USD. I would not order this again.

I use this on rear of our travel trailer to extend a dual bike carrier far enough to mount two bikes (without the extender, the spare tire restricts me to only one bike). It holds the carrier and bikes (50 lbs) securely without too much "bouncing". When parked, I take off the bike carrier and use a DYI solar panel holder to keep the trailer batteries charged. In the case, the extension allows me a wider range in directing the panel to face the sun without the rear of the trailer interfering.
