I love having the right size drills in the case, rather than trying to look up and then find the right size drill in your index. The drills and taps seem well made and sharp. The tap handle is a bit light and lets the taps spin if at all loose.I don't think the case is going to survive very long, it seems to be brittle plastic.

This is a well done set. There's adequate range in drill bits and taps. I looked up the hardness of M2 steel. It's quite hard and recommended for high speed operations. Machining looks very good. All bits and taps are neatly kept in tilting trays. Bits are hard to remove at first but loosen with repeated use. They are sharp. Use gloves as recommended.Half the clamp was loose in the box along with a broken rubber band. I used plastic wrap to keep the jaws in the clamp while it's the case. All are in a heavy duty plastic case with a snap closure. There's a handy sliding tab on the back to hang the set. All parts are accessible while hanging.Could not find information on thread pitch. (Metric and standard thread pitch are different.) Larger taps look to be coarse thread but smaller taps are hard to determine. They may be fine thread. It would be a plus if the pitch for taps was specified in the instructions.Set comes in a nice box for gift wrapping.

Very handy tap and die set. I build and repair lots of things and this set of tap and dies is bigger than what I had before. Very happy to have a proper set and find the sizes that I need when I want them. So far drill bits are sized right and them and the thread bits are sharp and work well. If you haven't used taps before, take your time. Use household or cutting oil. Go slow and if it resists then back it out and clean out the hole then go again. I have sometimes had to do this 15 plus times to keep a hole cleared so I can keep cutting the threads. Be patient.

It's a nice set, all in their properly fit spot inside a case that every part fits inside so nothing can get off to somewhere else before I find out the missing one is the one I need...I'm not saying it's happened to me like that. ....but I can't say it hasn't.Regardless, I'm glad I can say now that it can't and won't, because these are contained, which, for me, is important. Honestly, I can lose a screwdriver just by setting it down. I lose tools right next to me every time I do anything, which is all the time, every day, because work is truly play for me.For someone like me, that case is worth more than ten sets without the case, because without the case I'd be looking for something instead of doing what I was doing. If you identify with any of that and you might need to thread some hole, somewhere, some time, don't hesitate to make it go smoothly by getting these, so the tools you need are all together in one kit with the right size to fit that M-whatever bolt you happen to have found in your misc. hardware tins or old coffee cans, or took off something else, or actually bought new at the hardware store, that will do whatever job you need it to do, without ending up having to buy the individual set in only that one size for over half the price of this entire kit, just because you didn't get this kit.Tools. They are their own reason. Hand extensions. Hands can do anything, but, threading a bolt hole in metal? Hands can't do that all by themselves. And when I need to do that, I know from experience it'll be urgent, probably on a Sunday, an hour drive to the nearest open hardware store that closes in one hour and five minutes and, of course, I'll be filthy with black grease in my hair and need to stop for gas on the way. That's why I need every tool known to man to already be here. I'm not me at my most efficient without them already here. It's almost a punchline to me that I still need to remember to get an SAE set to be able to match styles with the rest of the hardware on something so someone down the road 100 years isn't cross-threaded and cursing me for putting metric threads in an American machine.Right now, though, I'm glad to have these handy, and since in an urgent situation I'm the mini god that gets to choose the bolt based on the threads I'm threading, I'd say this one set can save me a headache or three just fine.

When a product manufacturer pays attention to the storage case as well as the product inside I can usually assume it means the product is solid. This seems to be the case (pardon the pun) with this tap and drill set. They put some thought and effort into making a storage case that holds the bits securely in an organized and clearly-labeled arrangement, with hinged racks to make removal easier, and a sturdy latch that keeps it closed.Although the various bits arrived loose and rolling around inside the case I can't fault anyone except the freight handlers for that. The bits went easily back into their designated slots, and the case shows no sign of damage. There's an included instruction sheet as well, and it tucks neatly into the case behind the bits. The T-handle comes in 2 sections and needs to be screwed together. The drill bits on one side of the case make the hole and the tap bits from the other rack create the threads. This is useful for a variety of scenarios. I haven't had a chance to test these out yet, but a set like this is smart to keep around. I wanted to make sure I have it in my box for when the need eventually arises.Everything looks like quality. Edges are sharp, nothing is bent or misshapen, these pass every QC test I can throw at them other than actually drilling a hole and tapping some threads. It's a great looking set though, and I'll be back in here to update the review as soon as I've gotten some actual use out of them.
