Ordered two for my daughter and I to wear to a period event under our stays and dress. Size chart had us at medium but I ordered small since that’s what was available and it fit but the generous neckline kept slipping off the shoulders. Overall they did the trick and stayed in place with stays and some pins. Recommend if you need a chemise and have run out of time to make your own!

This chemise is beautiful and constructed in a very historically accurate way (aside from machine stitching obviously). The sleeves have underarm gussets as they should, and the seams are all flat felled, which is the exact period finishing technique I use on the ones I make myself. The only negative is I do think the sizing is a little overgenerous. I’m a solid size medium based on the chart, and I have wide shoulders, but the neckline was slipping off even with the drawstring pulled as tight as I’d want it. Might not be an issue under stays but I’ve ordered the small to test as well. The fabric is a little stiff but I’m sure once it’s laundered it will soften. Just haven’t tested that since I’m planning to return this size. Overall I highly recommend this chemise! It’s always good to have a couple extra and let’s be real, they’re not as much fun to make as the dresses!
