Lasted about two weeks. Did a voltage check when it first arrived, was over 350mV (which is good). About two weeks later, the pilot light would not stay lit and this thermopile would not get over 165mV (which is bad). The fireplace needs a minimum of 300mV to remain lit. It was only $8, so not worth the effort to return. Just ordered a Honeywell Thermopile for $70. I will update my review when it arrives, to document the difference between a cheap and an expensive thermopile.

It's been a few months now and so far so good. I like to give products like these some time to see how they hold up before giving a review to help others out. My parents wall heater went out and after doing some research online, they say this is the likely culprit. Since this item is described as being for a fireplace, it was a little loose installing on a wall heater but these thermopiles are pretty much universal anyway. I just bent the metal of the holder a little bit to hold it tight and it worked out fine. This took 15 minutes to install and voila it works! Amazing what a little googling online will do to help you. The funny thing is that we called the gas company and they couldn't figure it out. My dad ended up paying them $60 dollars because they thought it was the gas flex tube that needed replacing. Sometimes I wonder how these guys got the job when I can figure this out just by looking at YouTube videos and they spent an hour replacing something that didn't need to be replaced in the first place!
