I ride a recumbent trike. The handlebar ends point straight up, with twist-grip shifters and brake levers easily at hand. I have cell phone holders on both handlebars -- one is used as a bicycle computer, the other for music, calls, etc. Adding these allows the claws on the phone holders to be raised by 2 inches which gets them out of the way of my handgrips. I use mirracycle mirrors, which unfortunately are just too big to fit into the ends. Not the problem of the extensions, just a fact. Mirracycle has made some modifications over the years. On my trike I just sanded for a few minutes and the mirrors were able to fit inside. On my wife's, I had to use a dremel to cut off chunks of the plastic to get hers to fit. But fit they did, and removing the plastic to make them slender enough to fit into the bores does not compromise the security of the fit, it was just a bit of a pain to do.The reason I took off a star was that even tightened down as much as I reasonably could, the metal teeth that fit inside the handlebar just don't grip tightly enough to keep it from spinning. I only have a mirror and a cell phone holder on it, so I'm not depending on it to hold firm against my twisting with my hands while riding. I put a piece of inner tube around the teeth before tightening and that helped quite a bit. It would be nice if there were some friction coating on the teeth, but maybe they have a reason for not doing it.Lastly, since I extended the grips I wanted something to cover the handlebar that was now exposed. The Sautop mountain bike grips Amazon sells (1 Pair Mountain Bike Handlebar Grips,Bicycle Ultralight High Density Foam Silicone Sponge Handlebar Grip,Anti-Slip,Shock-Absorbing,Super Soft Bike End Grips) are super cheap (about $5 for the pair) and work quite well. I cut one in half and that covered up the exposed bars on both handlebars.

Used on an ebike to get make my mtb handle bars that much wider. It worked well. I would not trust these for actual mountain biking. Anything casual and they are a dream come true

They go in good. They are strong. They just don't hold tight enough to keep form spinning. They work great for attaching a mirror to. I attached an alternate grip to it, but it spins making in not a good choice. I was disappointed that they spin.

I added regular motorcycle size grips to my moped and needed to widen the handlebars to accommodate them. This was the perfect solution.
