The numbers are not 3 inches, barely 2 3/4. The numbers are magnetic thus not zinc.

The screws supplied are made of steel-and started rusting only a few weeks after installing the numbers. Rust is now bleeding onto the numbers-They look like brass but are steel--Will need to find replacement screws that don't rust. Even though I painted the # and screws with paint they are still rusting. Not Good!

Trying to replace my old oxidized numbers on metal mailbox. They measure exactly 3" and the holes for the screws are2.75" apart (top and bottom). These numbers were advertised as 3", but they are actually 2.75", so the screw holes don't line up with the ones already drilled in the mailbox. Have looked at Lowes and Menards repeatedly, but can't find what I want. Guess I'll have to use stick-ons for now. Returning these.

I had to return three of these due to very poor coating -- mottled and lumpy vs shiny and smooth. I ended up keeping the fourth one I received because I got tired of sending them back. It is slightly better than the three I returned. I would not order these numbers again -- six numbers in total, with one good 2 and four returns to get a mediocre second 2.
