Extremely easy to set up, easy to take off when throwing away trash/recycle, and it immediately stopped the raccoons from getting into our bins. They occasionally still try to move the straps, but have been unsuccessful. Definitely recommend this product.

Purchased set of two straps to keep raccoons out of my trash can, unfortunately they are super determined and can wedge themselves in the can. I have closed the straps as far as I can they are still stretchy enough for them to lift the lid and push themselves in and out. Used to use bungee cords which used to work but no more.I resorted to ratchet straps which have no give and provide a secured hold down of the lid.The straps are likely a deterrent to less aggressive animals, they are easy to use. I'll keep them and see if I can repurpose them.

Didn't get this for animals—we’re in a tornado-prone area with strong storms, and it’s a pain picking up trash every time the can tips over. This keeps everything contained and out of the neighbors' yard. Solid build. Just wondering how the metal will hold up to rain and if the strap might get brittle from sun exposure over time.

Works great! Had no trouble fitting this to our garbage and recycling bins. Since they've been on we've had no issues with racoons and such getting in and popping out to scare the life out of me when I take trash out!One thig I wish is there was an included clip or something that made it easy to store the straps when we put them out front for collection. That way I wouldn't have to remember where I left them each time.Other than that, these are great and I recommend.

I have been needing this adjustable trash can strap with the metal claws on each end that can be used on different sizes of trash cans. I live in the country and it is a never ending battle with the raccoons to keep them out of the trash cans. I like that this strap easily hooks to each side, is easily adjusted and holds great -- but is also easy to undo to put your trash in the can. The guys thinks this strap would also work great for using on big totes in the sheds or camping to not only keep the lids closed but to prevent animals from getting into the containers. This strap is a great price for a very well made heavy duty adjustable strap with metal claws.

Thick quality strap. After I tightened the strap it held the lid on nice and tight. I tested it by trying both to yank and to lift. Didn't budge.I went with this lock because it doesn't require you to drill a hold into the can. My bins all belong to the city and I was concerned they might fine me for "damaging" the bin with one of the drill-on locks. My purpose, however, isn't as a lock but as a strap by which I can lift the lid (via a string through my window) without having to go outside when the weather is terrible. I'm super pleased because the strap grips the lid strongly enough to lift it (when not locked).

This thing is a game-changer. I’ve had issues with raccoons knocking over my trash can and digging through it like it’s a buffet, but ever since I installed this lock, it’s been peaceful. The double metal claw design grips tight, and the adjustable strap fits my 64-gallon bin with no problem. No tools, no drilling, just loop it on and tighten. It holds firm even through strong winds and late-night raccoon raids. The black color also blends nicely and doesn’t stand out too much.Honestly, if you’re tired of waking up to trash all over your yard, this is the fix. Solid build, easy install, and it just works. Very happy with this!

I ordered these straps for a different reason than most people! Instead of trying to keep animals from taking garbage out, I am trying to prevent humans from putting garbage in!Let me explain. We have an Airbnb house located next to our home that I help manage. Here in So California, we have three types of garbage cans: grey (garbage), blue (recycle) and green (organics). So often, guests at the Airbnb throw garbage in the organics can, which is meant for grass cuttings, leaves, weeds etc. I am tired of having to pull the garbage out and put it in the proper can. I am hoping this strap will deter them from using the green can!It went on the can easily and fits snuggly. It is also easy to remove but hopefully deters the guests! However, I feel sure it would keep animals, even raccoons out of a garbage can.
