Worked great, much less than calling for service. I took out the led that was not working, typed the part number into Amazon, came in 2 days and fixed in the same time. This happened to two of my leds, thankfully not at the same time. If your leds are dim and one is out, fixing the out one fixes the problem. The freezer led is in the same chain as the refrigerator leds so it’s not always obvious which led broke. Getting the leds out takes two putty knives and patience.

This is the second LED to fail in my Whirlpool Refrigerator. The first time I spent $52 (plus shipping) on a OEM one. This part is just as good to me at a fifth the cost. The PC board is exactly the same and fits perfectly. One note. For mine I needed a T8 Torx to unscrew the Torx screws. I have that tool but many many not. Nothing to do with this product but look at the defective one and make sure you have the tool to take out the screws. I am very pleased and will buy this again next time.

I bought two of these LED boards to replace burned out LED boards in a Whirlpool WRX986SIHZ00 refrigerator. I tried one in the first socket connector to see if it fixed the problem. It didn’t light up. So, I took an LED board that I knew worked from another place in the refrigerator and put it in the socket connector to make sure that I didn’t have a dead socket connector. It lit up. I tried the “new” LED board in the socket connector I took the functioning LED board from and it still didn’t work. I tried the second “new” LED board I bought in both locations and it didn’t work either. I am returning both LED boards . OBTW, I checked the fit of both LED boards in my light housing, neither one would have fit without modifying the light housing and the LED boards themselves. I would have had to “snip” the locating pin off the light housing and either filed or Dremeled one of the holes on the LED board to make it fit.

This is the second time the LED in my Whirlpool refrigerator freezer compartment has gone bad. The first time I bought the $65 OEM replacement module and had to deal with the glob of foam insulation to remove the bad module. This time I bought this $13 replacement LED to install in the factory module. Pop the module out of the freezer, remove the two small torx screws and install the new LED in the factory module. Plug it in and done.I accomplished this by just removing the top freezer drawer. If you have never replaced the module you may have to remove both drawers and lay inside the freezer to get the OEM module out of the mess of insulation. Be careful when trying to dig out the wiring connector so the connector or wires don't get broken.

This item definitely works. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is because it's not a direct replacement for W10843353. As someone mentioned in the review already, it requires a bit of dremel work to expand the holes a bit in order to fit the board on the lighting housing. I was able to get it done and install it. A couple of tips for those who are in the same boat - 1. if you are having difficulty when removing the housing, make sure you use the putty knife from the opposite side (e.g. instead of front, insert the putty knife from the back). What happens is that this housing cover has a mid tap which is positioned very high on one side (in my case, the front). You could depress the tabs on both side and are still unable to release the housing. But if you are going from the other side, all three tabs are at the same level and thus easy to push a release. 2. when you disconnect or connect the LED unit, you have very little room to work with. Part of it, I believe, is by design - so that you have to pay for expensive service visit. I curse the engineers for intentionally keeping the wires short. What happens to 'right to repair'? Anyhow, you could use those mini pick and hook set to assist - all you need is to stick a pick in and press down on the release hook. When installing, you could use one of those picks to hold the other harness in place while you insert the LED side in. This is definitely a good deal considering the OEM for the entire LED unit costs a lot more. Will buy again.

The appliance repair company wanted to charge me 560 to fix my fridge lights. The way my Maytag fridge works if if one light is out in the line the whole line goes out. So this time we had a power surge and it blew out the light in our freezer which shut of all of the top lights in the body of the fridge. The entire light module runs about 30-40 dollars on amazon but you can literally hex screw this little on and off the light module and it only cost 15 bucks. The challenge is knowing which light is out, but the other lights in the line will have a little teeny light very dim and the bad light will be completely out. The light prys out (be careful) you will also need to make sure you have the proper plug type. This one fit my MFX2676FRZ00. This is the second time this fridge has had this same problem.
