I cut glass primarily for picture frames and small windows for enclosures. I know the basics, but I often end up with a shattered piece because I didn't part it properly. It's not hard using a conventional glass cutter if you're just trimming off an edge, but it doesn't work as well when I cut a large piece.This tile/glass cutter includes a rotary blade on the end, with two extras in the box. It's used like a traditional hand held rotary glass cutter. The benefit is with the rest of the tool, which lets you clamp the glass at one edge, and apply consistent pressure on both sides of the cut.It works nicely, as long as you prepare carefully. Make one long scratch at a single pass, and don't go over it repeatedly. Tap the glass with a small ball peen hammer gently. Then apply pressure using the Tile Cutter Hand Tool for a clean break. It's a great help, and prevents you from cutting your hand on the edge of the glass.
