One of our toilets started to cause problems and I was preparing to make a trip to purchase a new rubber flapper when I saw this conversion kit on Amazon and decided to give it a try. The concept is simple, build everything needed to flush the toilet into a simplified unit that contains the drain mechanism and float into one unit. This is not only efficient but the unit has the capability to control the flush so you can choose to either have a light flush for liquid and a full flush for solids, thus saving water. With our current set up this is controlled by either pushing the handle down for a quick flush or holding it down for a couple of seconds for a full flush. On this unit, this choice is made when you flush by either lifting the handle or pushing it down. That takes a bit of getting used to but soon becomes automatic to the user. There are stickers included that you can place on the tank to explain this feature. Personally, I like the short or long push better than the up/down method. In any case Iβm thinking that this dual method of flushing will become standard as the need to conserve water in this area is brought to peopleβs attention.

I have a 15 year old toilet that has seen things. It occasionally would leak because the flapper wouldn't go down all the way or the handle would stick. And the handle was half broke. This was a great rebuild option. it allows the dual flush, was super easy to install, and rebuilt the toilet back to functioning as it should. I'd highly recommend it and will update if I ran into any issues not related to what happens in a toilet

It only fits toilets that have the float on the fill valve. If you have the ball-cock style, (the float is on an arm or rod) which is virtually every flush mechanism that I've ever seen, it won't fit. I was planning on replacing that anyway, but it's not included with the kit. π£ So it will be a while before I can install it. In the instructions, it says "some" toilets. I don't know where that's not the norm. None of the brick and mortars in town here have one of that type, either.Otherwise, it looks well made with about an average grade of plastic materials, and shouldn't be too difficult to install. I can't judge the water saving performance or function or how easy or difficult it is to adjust the levels.I'm not upset that I have to replace the fill mechanism. I'm upset because I Didn't See It in the Ad Copy.Update: After obtaining and installing the proper fill mechanism, it does seem to work well. It installed easily enough, even for this home improvement challenged guy. I'm not crazy about the control logic. Up is full flush and down is low fill. Fine... you tell your household how it works and they get used to it in short order. But when you have guests, it can lead to awkward moments. It does come with labels, but that looks a little, umm, tacky? Most people aren't going to "do a two" in someone else's house, (unless it's an overnight visit) but sometimes it can't be helped. Could you imagine having your boss over for dinner because you're aiming for a promotion, then have to explain "if you poop, pull the handle up." One last note. Depending on the setting, the low water flush will still work with a little bit of toilet paper; a wipe or two is no problem.

Exactly as described in the listing. The upgrade kit arrived in a simple plastic bag (pics #1 & #2). Contents in the bag were flush valve with handle box connected, quick connect base, refill hose with water conserver attached, bag with flush handle, rubber washer, and 2 different sized rubber hole grommets (pic #3), stickers, installation guide, and a tip sheet (pic #4).The kit itself appears and feels like regular plastic and does not feel nice and thick and heavy duty. The mounting of the hand box is with the pre-attached cord sticking up which was a little difficult to maneuver around my particular tank setup. I wasn't impressed with the build quality however the main focus was on if it works or not. The handle is a metal looking plastic handle.Installation was extremely simple. The important thing is to ensure the quick connect base was properly seated in the toilet discharge hole to form a good seal and prevent any leakage. Installation took about 15 minutes which is counting the removal of the told components to the finished installation as seen in pic #5. Does the system work as described? Yes it does. Does the handle sit flush against the water resevoir? No it does not as seen in pic #6. The included lables was thoughtful, however it makes thigs look a little cheap. I would have preferred it stamped on the handle, but that's my opinion and did not affect the review of the product and whether or not it functions as described because it does function as described. Depending on your bowl design, etc. the noise level nay vary but I didn't notice a change to noise level when flushed a few times to adjust the settings. Overall it works as described and is backed by a 5 year warranty. Working great so far with no issues.

Yes - this works and it pretty straight forward to install. Once it's in, it works exactly as described. But I'm not thrilled with it.You must use the flush handle provided and it's pretty cheap. Our handles are far nicer and add to the look of the bathroom. Also, they provide stickers so that visitors know how to work the handle. This is not what I want, so I installed this in an infrequently used toilet. You may want to keep this in mind.
