We damaged our previous stick-style meat thermometer (pro tip: don't put it in a smoky bbq grill with the lid closed; the face and glass turn completely black from the smoke). So we replaced it with this 2-pack stainless steel meat thermometer set from AWLKIM (yes, made in China). The thermometer itself appears to be well made and is easy to use, so the big question was if it was accurate. It claims accuracy with 2 degrees fahrenheit. As you can see from the pictures, we heated water and clipped both thermometers next to each other to check their consistency. They were only 1 degree apart, so that was good. Next we checked the temperature next to our digital thermometer (yes, the one we got so we could use it on the bbq grill), and the stick thermometer and digital were 3-4 degrees apart. Certainly all three are accurate enough for cooking.Observations✅ The dial face (2.5") is twice as large as our old one, which is great when you are checking the temperature through the oven door.✅ It's nice to have two since we can now check items in both double ovens without having to move the thermometer.✅ The manufacturer claims the thermometer meets the NSF standard.✅ When inserting the probe from a cold state, it takes about 15 seconds for it to reach the temperature.✅ The clips work well if we need to clip the thermometer to the side of the pan because the dish isn't substantial enough to hold it in place (think of a stew vs. a turkey).Overall, we are completely pleased with these thermometers.

Okay run of the mill meat thermometers. Seem to be okay for accuracy but dial is loose so you have to calibrate often.

DESCRIPTION:This is a 2-pack of dial type meat thermometers, having a range of 120°-220° F.————————HOW I USED IT:First I performed a boil test. The "BOIL TEST" mark is shown on the dial at 212°. The indicator gradually came up to 210° which is a reasonable accuracy. I tested both thermometers together, and they agreed in all aspects at various temperatures.I am using these to replace an older, smaller dial thermometer which had become a bit erratic. I use these primarily for pork chops, or steaks on a grill. There is a card enclosed which states the bottom 5 cm (2 inches) of the probe should be in contact with the food being cooked. I experimented and found the best accuracy when this is followed. For thinner cuts, insert the probe on an angle so enough is in contact. For soups/stews, adjust the clip so enough of the probe is immersed.————————PLUS POINTS:1. The scale is marked in 2 degree increments (my old thermometer was marked in 5 degree increments).2. Sliding red edge pointer allows setting your target temperature. This is especially useful when thermometer is inserted in a roast in the oven, the dial and pointer are large enough to be read through the oven window.3. Adjustable clip allows pan edge mounting.————————MINUS POINTS:1. There is a slight difference between the online catalog photos and the thermometers received: The photos show the scale itself marked with red target temps. These are not present on the thermometers received, the only markings on the scale are the temp numbers.2. Sensitive to placement: I had best results following the card instructions and ensuring the bottom 5cm (2 inches) of the probe is in contact.————————OVERALL:Very pleased with this pair of thermometers. They are accurate and agree with each other. As with any dial type thermometer, they tend to indicate more reliably when the temp is decreasing, not increasing. For best results, warm the probe up to a temp higher than your target temp, and then take the reading as it comes down. Also be aware the target temps listed on the dial do not necessarily agree with other sources concerning proper levels. Consult your recipe/food sources to ensure you are cooking to a proper minimum temperature.

Very happy with this purchase.Used it to cook a 10 pound prime rib.The internal temperature of the beef seemed on target for medium rare serving 140 degrees.

Sometimes you need an instant read temperature, and sometimes you want to keep an eye on the internal temp during cooking. This thermometer is for the second scenario. Stick it in the meat, put it in the oven, and monitor the internal temp. You can set the red marker to your target temp to more easily see when it has reached it. When I pulled it out, I measured the temp with an instant read and the two thermometers were within a couple of degrees. I think the price is reasonable for this two-pack.
