It works better than some of the other locks l purchased that are almost identical, except in gold.The key and locking mechanism works way better.

I recently built 4 machinist toolboxes for my 3 sons and I. I used these for the top compartment lock. turned out great and they loved the gift. It's not a security lock, but they look nice with polished chrome/nickel. Only one key provided per lock. Requires a mortise in both parts. Be careful to set the key hole location precisely. escutcheon is oval so a little tricky to inlay, I made a template for the router.

Missing parts and just all around poor quality. Some incorrect parts, zero screws, and one of the keys didn't fit. I dont have time I'm my day to take this to the UPS store for a return and I'm not going to pay another one. Waste of $13

So yes it's a flimsy lock u get what u pay for but I expected that. What I didn't expect were the tiny wrong size screws they included that were way too small. I had to go out and buy separate screws
