Some people may prefer one side to be tacky. I don't. A non tacky version would also be nice. The paper was a pain to remove to expose the glue. Because it has memory from being rolled up the ends wanted to curl and stick to the tank while applying. Also because of the glue I had to completely flip the tank to apply it and to be able to cut the excess from the non glued side. Personally I would much rather have been able to just sit the tank on a roll of this stuff without glue on top of a piece of cardboard and trimmed it with a razor. With all that said it provides good friction and doesn't slide. Also one large piece or larger pieces would be good for larger ( or in my case bowed front ) tanks.

I have some cubed rimless tanks i have sitting on a counter top, on a towel, but still nervous possible shock being absorbed thru the glass. These pads are thick, will absorb shock and vibration, protecting glass, and not annoy fish. These can be trimmed to size if needed. They are black in color, but being underneath, they won't take away from the look and beauty of your tank. I got 2 pads for a really food price!!

Great product, good quality definitely pretty tough rubber/foam. Pretty easy to cut with a razor knife but hard to shape. Recommend using scissors to cut rounded corners so it doesn’t come out jagged like mine did.Enjoy!

It does what its supposed to, makes a great non-slip leveling pad for our aquarium. We have a 15 gallon fluval flex and I wanted something to put beneath it on the stand it came with. I'll never understand why aquarium stands need to be the exact size of the aquarium, I'm always worried its going to slide just enough to put pressure on one side and boom there goes the aquarium seal. The tank seems pretty stuck to its spot now that its sitting on the pad though. Just be warned one side of the pad is tacky to stick to the stand and boy is it a pain to get on right. Firstly, the tacky side has paper stuck to it for obvious reasons, but the paper is incredibly thin and tears easily, I had to pull it off in bits in pieces no matter how careful I was. Second, the pad was difficult to cut to size, it came rolled up and it wants to STAY rolled up so cutting it straight was a chore. Last, when I did finally have it cut it kept wanting to shrink every time I tried sticking it to the stand. I had to stretch it in every direction to get it edge to edge. So yeah, 4 stars because it works as intended but the application leaves something to be desired.

When I move my tanks, I like to replace the old leveling mats. These are great, thick, and priced right! They look great, and can easily be trimmed with a razor knife once you have them down. Overall, I’m very happy with these and the price!

This aquarium fish tank leveling pad wasn't quite what I was hoping for, as I typically prefer non-adhesive mats. I already own a similar mat material, which I find excellent for its core purpose: it helps immensely with keeping the tank perfectly level and provides crucial protection for both the glass bottom of the aquarium and the surface of the stand or table from scratches and damage. Additionally, it genuinely makes cleaning underneath the tank much easier.However, unlike my other mats, this one features a self-adhesive backing, which allows you to "glue" it to your countertop or the tank itself. I don't find this feature necessary at all; with the significant weight of a filled aquarium, it's very difficult for the mat to shift or move anyway. My main concern with the adhesive is the potential for the mat to rip during future tank moves or for adhesive residue to be left behind on my furniture. The mat does have a noticeable neoprene smell upon unboxing, which is typical for this material but does dissipate over time.Nevertheless, while I find the adhesive backing a drawback, the core functionality of this 6mm (closer to 5mm) thick foam mat is good. Its protective and leveling qualities are solid, and I will still use it for my newer tanks. However, I'm not entirely convinced the value is there given the adhesive feature I find unnecessary and potentially problematic.
