I had a grinder with no buffing wheels and knees worked out really well. They last a long time come I won't say for ever but if you take care of them they can last for many many years. This is the first set I have been able to buy in over seven years and I use it quite a bit

Ordered this (2) Pack of Buffing/Polishing Wheels - 6" x 1" x 1/2" - (70) Layers of cotton material for my grinder/buffing machine in my shop. I'm always working on an old car or truck to restore, and also love restoring antique clocks with wooden housings/frames and always shinning on either chrome, metal, brass, or copper. Also wife's silver dinnerware and etc. around our home. When buffing or polishing many things, have always tried using just my car buffer and sometimes it's a pain and a bit dangerous. Recently while shopping online for some compound cleaner and cleaning materials, I saw this (2) pack of buffing/polishing wheels that is 6" in diameter, 1" thick, and 1/2" arbor and that it fits my pedestal grinder. After reading that it's layered with 70 sheets of pure cotton material, I ordered it. These are really nice quality and thick wheels and great for my buffing needs. I like the thick and tightly sewn material as it makes the diameter edges real smooth like velvet, but firm for getting a nice and smooth finish for whatever I'm polishing. Also like the heavy sewn material as it holds all the layers tightly together to get a nice smooth polishing wheel. My first job was to buff & shine wife's jewelry and she was very pleased with their shine and smooth finished results as it removed most of the scratches too. I polished all the brass hardware on a mantle clock and it made them look almost new again. This package also came with (2) compound bars to help with getting the desired shine and finish. Also came with (3) finger guards for protection. These easily earns a (5) star rating in my opinion

Was glad to see that I could still order reasonably priced 6" stitched muslin buffing wheels to fit my 20+ year old grinder/buffer. Most grinder/buffers sold nowadays seem to require 8" wheels. These do not have as much stitching and stiffness as the wheels I have previously used but that brand is no longer available. These will, of course, also work on 8" machines.Package includes a bar of green and a bar of white compound. Grits unknown.

Nice pack of 2 buffing wheels. Included are both green and white polishing compounds. I use these to polish my chisels and plane blades and look forward to installing these on my grinder.

I may be the wrong guys to submit a review. I have never had a polishing or buffing station. I added an 8" grinder to my 6" and decided one station would go to buffing/polishing. I got these and very much expect that they are the business. My problem, I think, is that these anticipate being replacement wheels and that I lack the proper mounting hardware. What came off the grinding wheel is not what I picture is needed for this application.I held back a star, perhaps for lack of hardware, and certainly because the total lack of documentation leaves me guessing at this, as well as uncertain as to which of the polishing compounds is appropriate to what. Everything about the wheels themselves appears well-made and what I anticipated. It is about to warm up, and when I can get into the shop without suffering, I will suss it out. I will try to remember to report back because I figure I cannot be alone in this state of affairs.

These are good, thick cotton wheels for buffing or polishing. They're pretty dense, and arrive intact without any hard creases on some of the material, and I had that happen once with another brand. The polishing compound is pretty small, pay attention to the dimensions. I think the finger covers are latex, and they help grip the compounds when applying them which is a good idea. What someone needs to invent is a way to hold these small pieces to apply them and use more of them before tossing them without risking your fingers. But that aside, good quality wheels, I'm happy with them.
