The packaging for these mirrors includes a small metal plate on the back of the package below the instructions. This plate is used for installation and shouldn't be thrown away.My mirror has an ever-so-slight curve, but once the screws are tightened, they will help keep the plate in place. That's really all there is to the installation; it's pretty simple and easy as long as you don't lose or accidentally throw away the mounting plate.It's made with hard plastic that feels durable, and the mirror itself is a nice large piece of glass, providing a clear, wide-angle view of any blind spots. Additionally, the glass mirror part can be adjusted horizontally and vertically.They feel solid and stable and should hold up very well. I haven't tried them in an automatic car wash because I don't use that service, but they do seem like they would be okay to me.I drive a RAV4 with blind spot alerts, but that's putting trust in something that has the ability to malfunction. I feel safer depending on my own vision. They also help with backing the car up, which I'm not always the best at.You get a set of two for $12.99, which seems reasonable.
