This is a waste of space on the work truck. Doesn’t work well, and is slower to use than just manually doing it.

Used to hang door but gap too big

These work pretty well. I have an upstairs bedroom door that has always been a little too close to the ground and scrapes the ground when I open it. I don’t use that room often so hasn’t been a big deal. But when I host people, it is burdensome and looks bad when they use the door.So I saw these and thought this would be a great opportunity to change the door without having a second person to help. The dollies work reasonably well. I would say they had trouble balancing the door without me watching and making it sturdy here and there. Depending on the door you are installing or removing, they may work better. They did allow me to remove and reinstall the door by myself and generally work well. But I couldn’t quite get them to be 100% secure so that I did not have to kind of keep an eye on the door while I was working on the hinges. Maybe I just needed to be a bit more diligent in where I placed them on the door and how I tightened the, but I never quire got it to be perfect. So 4 stars.

My Ramblings… a well placed boot toe and some balancing will do the trick. So Let’s Take a closer look at what this will do for us.To the Point or TL;DRThese are great for heavy doors and precision work. Helpful for one person operations. Well made and solid. Rolls well under load. Needs shim on clamp side for better balance. Downside: half the control knobs on opposite side of door. Lightweight doors are still better off with a boot. The Good StuffA lot of us do a fair amount of one person jobs and things like this can help, especially when working with heavy SC doors or needing that exacting measurements for those PIA clients. These are built well and are definitely solid. They roll well under load and have excellent height control. This would also be perfect for when you are matching an old jamb or door, with a new jamb or door and want to match the mortise exactly. Overall, good for heavy, exacting things, but...The Bad Stuff… you need to be hanging a fair amount of heavy doors to justify the cost in my opinion, or you have that one very special, very expensive door, that just must be perfect for that PIA client. Installing HC doors just ain’t that hard. Half of the knobs for height control are on opposite side of door, so ya gotta walk around (I know, I’m picking). I pushed the door away from frame, made adjustment, and pull back toward me. Will leave a mark on paint, but not an impression. The Info StuffOn the side with the circular clamp, you would make a wedge to put under it, between the door bottom and the tool. This will help keep door more vertical and help keep it from leaning or falling over. Will leave a mark on paint, but not an impression.Who May Use/Like ItThose needing precision and working with heavy doors.Me Final ThoughtsI don’t love it, but I see how useful it can be. Wouldn’t carry it in the truck unless I hung a lot of doors. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Hope it helps! All the best, Just BenjaminReviewed: Brand: TONGTONGFA Cost: $69.99 at time of review.2 PCS Heavy Door Installation Dolly,Door Installation Tool,0-2.12in Door Installation Kit Hold up to 1200 lbs,Door Lifter Tool with Rotating for Pre-Hung、Slab and Front Doors

They do work, but the steel frame is not thick enough, as soon as you tighten the clamps onto the door, it starts to flex the steel frame. So you have to be careful with the whole procedure.
