I purchased these not as rock lights, but as “scene lights” for my roof rack and they are excellent and providing bright, dispersed light. The metal housings feel very well- built and the rubber adapters for round bars are thick, sturdy rubber. The back of the light housing is completely clear and open, but is sealed with an epoxy that appears pretty durable, but I’m not sure how long it would last with temperature changes on a vehicle. If the epoxy breaks or cracks, the light will be wide open to water intrusion. I will update if this occurs.My only reason for knocking off a star is the wires, which are the smallest, thinnest gauge wires I’ve ever seen on an automotive application product. They were difficult to get to solder because there are so few copper-coated strands to attach to your other wiring.

For the size, these put out a decent amount of light. Perfect for rock lights, or cargo lights. I added these to an existing set and they are similar in size and light output. The black housing seems durable. I dropped one on accident and it did not dent the housing or chip/scuff the paint. Currently being used as rock lights because of their green color. There are no instructions with these so you will need some 12V electrical knowledge. These are not difficult to install. We did not use the mounting hardware provided due to the install location of vehicle was installed on. Amperage draw is very minimal. Comparable lights are 3-4 times as much.
