I got this as a gag gift for a friend of mine. They do extend pretty far. I dropped a star because they're just very scratchy feeling when extended and retracting. Otherwise, these were great!

These utensils have been very helpful to my elderly mother, who has some tremors in her hands that cause difficulty when she’s feeding herself. Took a couple of days for her to get used of them but they are much better than the heavy weighted silverware. They generally offer from physical therapy. The extension has been very useful on the days when her arthritis kicks up that affirds her shorter distance from the plate to her mouth. These have helped her to be more independent and eat at her own pace.

I wanted something extendable to safely roast marshmallows and these work great. They're fairly comfortable to hold, extend and retract easily, and they can hold a jumbo marshmallow. They feel a little heavier and better made than a different brand I've tried so hopefully they'll last for awhile without breaking. That said, these are more of a novelty occasional use type item, I wouldn't expect these to last using them everyday. But for making s'mores they're way better than a coat hanger or random stick.

This fork and spoon is great for Thanksgiving dinner when you want to sample some food off somebody else’s plate, but they are less than cooperative.

These are 'fun' and could be functional too, if you and kids are going to have some marshmallow fun... or, do some grilling... But, really, I'm not mighty impressed with their claim of stainless steel. It's not! Compare it to any stainless steel utensil in your kitchen and you can easily tell the difference!Also, the joints are not very sturdy. Maybe that's the way all such forks would be. Once it is fully extended it's not advisable to poke and pick food with it. That's best done (easier - for obvious reasons of physics) when the fork is retracted.Overall, somewhat fun and an interesting utensil for kids (at least in our household) and sort of semi-functional. Not a huge must-have!
