DO NOT USE WITH PRECIOUS STONES.The spring on these is way too strong. It doesn’t matter if the metal is softer than the stone if it applies too much force – gemstones are scratch-resistant, but they are not tough.This holder chipped a sapphire, which is nearly as strong as a diamond. It cost me a few hundred dollars to fix.

These two stone holders were perfect for what I needed to view my stone on the finger. I used the smaller one to hold my 10mm diamond and wear it so I could determine if I was going to keep it. Just what I needed at a great price. I have other stones that will fit the larger holder.
