Probably not the typical usage, but after realizing the new bathroom vanity we bought had fixed solid shelves, I needed a quick solution. I received these grommets the very next day, removed the center inserts, and was able to wrap up the project with a nice finish. I used a standard 2" (51mm) hole saw and these grommets fit perfectly.

Used this to make a hole in a countertop pretty. All cords are bundled, organized, and mostly hidden. Cleaned up the area nicely.

I ordered this to re-route an ethernet cable through a house wall as neatly as possible. The grommet fit nicely into the 2" (51mm) hole I drilled with a Milwaukee Hole Dozer. There was a satisfying snap as the inner piece made firm contact with the sheet rock. From there it was a simple matter of pulling the cable through and then snapping the outer cover onto its mate -- another satisfying snap. The grommet color is off-white and would go nicely with any beige or almond interior wall paint. Quite sturdy too. I am totally pleased with this item, and I am glad I have additional grommets in case I need them for future projects.

These are great. I put the big TV's on the wall and had to run the wires down through the wall so the wires were not showing. However, I then had a 2 1/2" hole in the wall. I got these and painted them the same color as the wall and they worked great and look great!!

The pieces are fine. The diameter is exact. When I cut the hole with a hole saw the exact diameter, there is enough wobble in the saw that the hole ends up a smidge wider that it should. I fixed with this a hot glue gun, applying glue around the surface of the piece, and then inserting that into the drilled hole. The glue consumed the extra gap and hit holds solid.

We needed to run a couple cords through a wall to an outlet and phone jack in the adjacent room. This grommet covered the holes perfectly.
