Exhaust/header wrap will decrease your engine bay temperature, improve cooling and add horsepower. Please read this description thoroughly for more information about this very helpful but often misused product. When you add horsepower to an engine, one side effect is added heat generation. Most engines are designed to operate at 180F, however the exhaust gasses that leave the engine can easily be over ten times hotter than that, and it's common for turbos, exhaust manifolds and exhausts to sit right up against the engine or oil pan! When you have something that is 2000 degrees about two inches away from something you're trying to keep at 180 degrees, it's just common sense to use some kind of insulation. As an added bonus, you get better exhaust scavenging which will add some HP by keeping the heat in the exhaust gas. Do you know how hot your engine bay is? You've got a big chunk of iron and aluminum and a couple gallons of water at 180 degrees, so that's a good starting point. Exhaust gas at up to 2000 degrees leaving the engine just exacerbates the issue. But what about all the sensitive electronics and expensive performance parts you want to keep cool? And what about your intake pipe which carries nice cool air from your intercooler (or outside the car) that you want to keep well below your engine temperature? Heat radiating from your turbo and exhaust is the #1 cause of performance-robbing engine bay heat, and probably the #1 cause of failing alternators and similar electronics in that area. Help control the problem by insulating your hot exhaust components. Header wrap has gotten a bad reputation for fears that it causes exhaust pa

Wish I would’ve went with a non-fiberglass wrap. Wear glove and clothes you don’t care about.

Did a great job for the money. Does fade fast but can't expect a lot when heat rain n weather are to be combated

This stuff Is falling off after a month of use the description states it's good for turbo applications, no way if my engine had a turbo Id bet it would burn right off with the temps turbo applications reach

Fast shipping and works great. The dye does bleed out when wet but it isn't that bad. Still remains black in color. 100ft does a lot of piping!

This is the third time I wrapped my pipes and just buy the two inch wraps. I have a 2005 road king with thunder headers and I have easily enough wrap too wrap them again when the time comes. WEAR GLOVES it's still fiber glass and I didn't think of it this time and for two days my hands were hurting from the fiberglass. Don't panic when the pipes are smoking after your first couple of rides, it's just the oil in the wraps burning off. Finally use pipe clamps to hold the wraps in place while you are wrapping to keep it from twisting and unraveling, I just leave them on to save time later when I wrap again instead of using the steel zip ties.

The fiberglass used to make this wrap is the same quality of any other brand. However, its weave it really crappy and the cut off end likes to unravel so you will have to cut it to size, wrap the pipe, then cut it again when your done . The fiberglass separates more than better brands. The black die they use is a JOKE, it will bleed all over you if you do wet wrap and the floor will be stained. But it is still black after application so i cant complain too much. Prepare to be itch for 2 days.Bottom lineIf your looking for cheap that works and want to spend the minimum possible, then this is for you.
