200 Ft Hemp Candle Wick:I started a new hobby this year - candle making! I bought these cool moulds and wax, but I needed quality wicks! For just $7, you get 200ft of hemp wick! Great value! I love that it is compact and stays wound so I am not having to chase wicks around a box. They are 1mm thick. When my candle was ready to burn, it lit easily and burned nicely!

Smells like beeswax but it is a bit thin compared to other hemp wicks I've used for candles. This means it will burn and melt candles down much quicker, which is not a good thing.

I am dabbling in making some candles with my own beeswax and needed some wicks. I thought I would try this material, so ordered it in. It says in the item description it is 1mm, and it is indeed very thin. But it also says the material can be braided or twisted to make a thicker wick, so I thought I would try that. I won't have the time to make candles for a little while, so my testing if of just the wick material by itself.The beeswax (and yes, it is real beeswax - I could feel it and smell it) is uniform on the hemp string and released from the roll reasonably readily. I would suggest not keeping this material in a place that is too warm (or too cold - it might crack the wax coating as you try to use it).I twisted together about six strands, using the heat of my fingers and friction to hold it together, and it made a decent-sized wick. I lit it and it burned cleanly and with a larger flame. I lit only one strand (in photo) and it also burned nicely. Both wicks, especially the bigger one, put off a decent amount of smoke when blown out (snuffing will probably be better).I won't have a problem using this product when it comes time to make my candles. It seems to be clean, good quality beeswax and will fit right in with the wax I will be using. A decent product.

I love to make candles and have used many different kinds of wicking. This is fantastic. Easy to use and to store.

I got this wicking to use with my rolled beeswax candles. I wanted to use this because hemp is a sustainable crop & beeswax burns cleanly.This wicking is thin, but can be twisted together to make it thicker. I tried 2-strand wicks & 3-strand wicks on my candles (which are 3/4” in diameter.) The 2-strand worked well & burns as cleanly as I had hoped. I like the product, though next time, I will order the 2mm thickness.

The wick is thin and definitely doesn’t look or smell like beeswax. It works but i’ll pass on this one next time.
