This was great to pipe royal icing. I used several bags and not one broke. I used a very thick consistency and I could tell the bag was stretching and might break, but never did. I could see how these might not hold up with thicker icings, like buttercream, but I haven't personally tried to know for sure.

Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the same problem as some of the other reviewers. I've ordered these in the past, and they were great. But the last order I received I have to double bag every time because I've had so many burst bags. As often as I need piping bags, I cannot afford to have them be so unreliable, not to mention, I don't have time to stop and clean up messes and repair damaged cookies and cupcakes. I won't be reordering

I started making royal icing sugar cookies and have really enjoyed learning new techniques. I kept seeing Instagram videos of decorators using tipless "master" bags and wanted to try them myself, so I ordered these. I'm in love!Prior to this I was using Wilton bags with tips on them. Once I went tipless I'll never go back. These bags hold up well with royal icing. I know other forms of icing are thicker and may not work with these bags, so I want to only leave my opinion about using the bags with royal icing. I've never had any issues with bags breaking or leaking. When I am done decorating for the day I push icing out of the tip and roll the tip up, so when I use it the next day it's ready to go with no hardened icing in the tip.These bags are thinner, but I find them just right. They are inexpensive, so I don't dread throwing them away. There is a tiny seam that I make sure it's facing up when I decorate, it tends to suit better that way. I have used these with my decorating tips as well with no issues. Overall, I highly recommend these if you're working with thinner icing and want a cheaper alternative to the name brand ones.
