This product is a candle makers dream… or so it seems. First of all, it’s very hard to get the metal holder to stay in the candle itself. It slips no matter what type of glue I use. The wood is low quality and burns quickly. The scissors do not even cut the wood, but end up folding it or pulling it out of the metal holder.Perhaps an experienced candle maker has tips that make this better, but if you are a novice like me, I wouldn’t recommend it.

I started using these for my homemade beeswax candles, and I’ve been very pleased with the quality. I love the wick cutting scissors that it came with. It’s easy to use, high quality, and looks very nice and the finished product..

Following the instructions, submerging them in olive oil (VERY FLAMMABLE) , they will burn better but it removes the cracking because the oil makes the wick soggy. A dry wikc will crack more but you have to keep a longer wick trim and stack them together like in my picture. Overall good not great, lot of wood for the $ but not grate quality.

I bought this set of wooden wicks specifically for making candles. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they also worked well for making oil candles, which I decided to try out. Additionally, the cutting tool provided in the set was both easy to use and effective. Overall, the quality of the items in the set was excellent, and the price was certainly within my budget.

Used with Soy wax. I soaked the wicks in oil first, but they barely stay lit. The flames seem like real wimps. Maybe if I soaked them longer?… dunno. The scissor things are sort of okay, but they only cut these wooden wicks with some difficulty. Not impressed. I tried again after soaking them in oil for more than 24 hours. One would not stay lit at all and the other had just a tiny scrim of flame.

Love the crackle when it stays lit but have to keep relighting it no continuous burn

I was having an issue with the wick stain lit. The trick is to soak the wick and olive oil to keep the wick lit.

If you are using soy wax these will probably not work. So if you see reviews where they say they don’t work that is why. This is why the testing phase is so important. Test your products before you make a bunch to ensure they work and smell good. Get different kinds of wax, wicks and scents. Using fragrance oil or essential oil will also matter using wood wicks, and wax.
