First of all, no toothpicks were in the dispenser, and secondly when I opened to put some in there the whole thing fell apart. I returned it.

I used to keep some toothpicks in a little cup container in a drawer, but kept the rest in the box as I hated the thought of dust settling on the picks before use. So, these cute dispensers are my new favorite kitchen gadgets.The cover protects the picks inside and a firm press to the dispenser has a pick shooting to the top, ready to be grasped. Now I can have the dispenser on the counter top where it's much more convenient after dinner, and seems more hygienic when we have guests.I love the colors - I have red kitchen accessories at home, and the dark green one will be gifted. Each came individually wrapped so it's easy to gift.

These are just cheap junk! The plastic is not good quality at all! They look much better in their pictures than they do in real life. One of them arrived disassembled, and it was worth my life to get it back together (no instructions whatsoever of course!) They only sort of work; you have to press the button at least two or three times to get the toothpick up! The only thing good about them is that both colors of green match my kitchen perfectly. I’m probably going to be looking for a better quality item soon.
