My little son likes to help cook but he hasn't mastered cracking eggs yet. This tool really helps him. We like it!

Didn't work for me at all. Tried several times over several days.

I bought it, thinking it would keep my hands free of the egg shells as well as the inside of the egg but my hands still got dirty and I had to wash them! It is easier to crack an egg on a bowl or with a fork!

Works fine for raw eggs, Hardboiled eggs are ripped in half.

I wasn't aware of such a kitchen gadget as this before seeing these. I've seen some people that can crack and empty an egg one-handed in a single motion and I'm sure they'd scoff at the need for this, but when it comes to cracking eggs I'm all thumbs and this does make things easier/neater for me. Just this morning, I cracked five eggs and the yolk on the first one broke just a little because I think I had the metal piercing tabs pressed in more than necessary - but the next four came out perfect and clean. Just make sure to keep the tabs pressed in a little when emptying the egg so that the shell doesn't fall out before you're ready. After the first egg or two I felt like I had the hang of it. It's gotten some chuckles around my house but I like it and will continue using it. Have fun and good luck!

I really hate getting egg on my hands when cracking them. I'm also often at a loss for a good surface to crack the egg against, and that can lead to egg shell in the bowl which I then have to fish out, and get even more raw egg on my hands. This device solves that problem well. I cracked a bunch of eggs with this, and each one cracked perfectly with no mess or shell bits. The only problem is that each yolk was broken. I don't know if there's a technique for using this that doesn't break the yolk. I've been making cakes this week so it doesn't matter, but I don't want to ruin breakfast next time I try to make poached eggs.
