I really am glad that some engineers for this company put together the plans for these socket fan lights! I have been waiting for something like this for 6 years. I have a very small apartment and there is no ceiling fan in any of the rooms. Like I said, 6 years ago, I found a unit that could hang from a cord. I rigged that up, stapling the power cord to the ceiling and it worked like a charm with just a little wobble, but only lasted a year. It was well worth it, but all manufacturers discontinued making them. And I have suffered with air that doesn't move and causes my air conditioner to not be efficient. NOW I FOUND THESE SOCKET FAN LIGHTS! They work excellently. They are 20" as advertised and though that might not seem so big, they DO MOVE AIR AROUND! I now have TWO of them and I am attaching them with some jointed adapters because my bedroom fixture is a double socket with the sockets seated horizontally....SO, this can be solved with extender adapters that screw in and have a joint that can bend up to 90 degrees. This will allow TWO socket light fans to run at the same time. You will need to use some plumbers epoxy putty to seal the angling joint into a fixed angle because they MUST NOT MOVE past your measured angle or the fans of the opposing blades will touch and then you'll have a big, crazy crash. I suggest also making the angle slightly less than what appears correct by eyeball because the weight of the fans (though lightweight) will slightly increase the angle downward. Granted, this is only if you have a double socket and want to operate two fans at one time. One alone still has plenty of punch to move the air around in the room. And this kit also comes with a vertical adapter in case you have a recessed light socket. The light and fan will start automatically just with the flip of your light switch and you can adjust speed and light type, warm, cold, off, on, dim, bright with an easy to operate remote control included that needs 2 AAA batteries, (MAYBE AA, I can't remember right now, lol. Oh, and these kits also come with an extra LED circular array of replacement lights for the day it burns out...which should be a long time since I've had LED banks that have lasted years. I highly recommend these for quick fixes for bedrooms, garages and RV campers as well. Very good product for a very inexpensive price!
