Was easy to put together and start. Has been working just as good as the one that the pool came with.

We upgraded from the cartridge filters that came with our pool. With this pump setup and genuine FilterBalls Mini instead of sand (there are a lot of knockoffs, so I recommend to get the real thing), our pool is crystal clear and lower maintenance. We don't need to clean the cartridge filters or replace them; gosh that was a pain! This pump/filter setup is very effective at keep the pool clean and clear for us. More pool enjoyment time for the family this year.

This is the first sand filter we purchased for our 20 ft pool. The old filter didn't have enough pressure. After searching several pumps, I decided on this model. The instructions were easy to follow and we were up and running within an hour. We chose sand, works like a dream! The timer was not working correctly, it leaks slightly at one of the connection but the costumer service rep got back to me quickly. Would buy again!

I was excited to try these out as I had heard lots about the benefit of these vs sand. Unfortunately, these seemed to shed, leaving my pool with lots of particles floating. I ended up having to remove all the water, clean it, and fill it back up again just to get rid of those fibers

I recently bought a sand filter for our Intex pool, and happened to see these right before I went and bought some sand. They're like big cotton balls, and if you've ever had an aquarium, you'll understand how they work.I've only had them set up for a week now, but they seem to be doing a bang up job. I have not done a back wash yet, so I do not know if My pump will spit these out through the hose or not. I'm running a salt water chlorine generator setup, which is also new to me, but these seem to play well with that configuration. They're starting to get a little bit of that algae type funk on them, as they're trapping all of the crud in the 24' pool, so I'm sure I'll be cleaning them soon.I like that I can tip the filter tank over, dump the water, then actually carry the filter over to the gravel, and shake the balls out so I can wash them off in a bucket.I've never had a sand filter before, so I can't really compare them to sand, but I've had an aquarium, so I know they're working at least as well as an aquarium filter does.I love that they're re-usable! This is what caught My eye!If you also saw these, and may be on the fence, please accept My endorsement, as I've been very happy with them!

I was excited when I first received these pool filter balls I had herd good things about how well they worked. When they arrived there were not any instructions but I was not concerned becuase the discription said one bag equales 50lbs of sand. So I put two bags of thr filter balls in (my filter takes 100lbs of sand). I started the filter up and also did some vacuuming. My pool was covered in a foam within an hour and I have never had this happen before. First I checked my chemical levels wich were good. Then after watching a couple videos on what others have done.I decided maybe I just needed more filter balls. I ended up adding another two bags. I worked on my pool everydayfor two weeks vacuuming adding shock and even using some superflock out. I forgot to menton that I also washed the balls once and they were dirty. The cleaned filter balls did not do much better. So today I am off to go buy some filter sand!!

UPDATE:Just wanted to mention that these last and last. It's easy to clean them. Just place in a mesh bag and machine wash. Or...you can wash them in a bucket.I've just discovered a great way to clean them...I put them in a milk crate and used my pressure washer to blast them clean. Wish I'd thought of that years ago.I've been procrastinating cleaning out the filter because you should wash the media balls periodically and I didn't want to...Really.It's not difficult, but time constraints suggested getting another bag instead.Enter Blue Bay 1.55lbs Pool Filter Media Balls! Yay!Cleaning out the filter just got easier. I disassembled and emptied the filter. Cleaned it out and even took out the tentacles and cleaned them, too! Ick, ick, ick. Do not wait to do this like I did. I sort of rinsed one out to take a pic. Too gross before rinsing.Once cleaned, I put the new filter balls in and reassembled and filled it.One bag is all that was needed for my filter. My pool is so happy and so am I!The output of water filtering back into the pool is so much better and now I can clean the old ones to have ready for the next change out.Definitely a great value and so much better than sand. They look like pompoms but are very strong and do not come apart.Instead of heavy sand, these absorb and filter the incoming water from the pool.Whenever your pool seems to filter sluggishly and backwashing isn't helping, just take them out and wash them to reuse. Having backup bags helps with this. They can be washed in your washing machine or by hand.
