This is a handy assortment of cotter pins to have. We have so many different lawnmowers and other home equipment and these get lost. It is nice to have what we need on hand at any time. They are a good value.

I like having as many different sets of hardware like this that I can find, if the price is reasonable enough. This prevents additional trips to the hardware store. I find I will be more likely to fix or create something if I have the hardware on hand. For 20 USD, the price is a little high. I wouldn't order these again unless there was a good coupon button available to bring the price under 15.

I have no complaints so far about the pins. The finish, toughness, and stiffness seems normal. Maybe a bit harder to work with than steel pins, but that's to be expected for stainless. I also expect them to be worse at resisting fatigue from bending back to fix a bad installation, but that's also the nature of stainless steel hardware. I just hope they have the corrosion resistance I need, and only time will tell.The case is not great, which I know is typical of hardware assortments like these since I've ordered quite a few. The tops bow up in the middle and allow small parts like these to escape into neighboring compartments. Expect to spend a few minutes sorting them out when they show up, and every time the case is tipped over.

As anyone that has lots of tools knows, you often need spare parts like cotter pins. My farm equipment seems to always have a lost cotter pin, that I need to replace to keep working. It is really great having this assortment of pins on hand for when I need one.

This kit consists of every length of stainless steel (SEE PICTURE FOR SIZE COMPARISONS):1. R Clip for 1, 1.2, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, 2.5 & 3 mm holes normally needed.2. Hairpin Clip for 1.6, 2.5, 3.2 & 4.0 mm holes normally needed.I would prefer the R clips be sorted by size in side-by-side compartments within the case.Similarly, I would prefer the hairpin clips be sorted by size in side-by-side compartments within the case.Some of the parts in this kit are really small and easily transfer to other compartments when handling the case. I recommend installing a 1/16 inch thick sheet of open cell sponge foam cut to size placed in-between the lid and compartments to prevent this.The label indicating what compartments contain what size parts is on the top of the lid. This is nice when you are searching through all your parts boxes. I would prefer the same label be on the inside of the lid to ease finding the desired clip when the lid is open.This kit was a great addition to my collection of parts kits. I like to immediately have the clip I need when performing maintenance or for repairs.

Before I tell you that this is a nice assortment of cotter pins and hairpins, I have to gripe to Amazon about the shipping of this item. It was put in a box way bigger than the case with no padding, just loose in the box. Naturally it rattled around in the box during shipping and the end result is seen in the photo above. The assortment resorted itself all over the place and consequently I spent about a half hour sorting the various pins by size and then putting back in the appropriate spot in the plastic case. So, after that I can say, this is a nice assortment of pins for mostly light duty. There are a few heftier sizes I might use on some lawn equipment, but mostly this is for light duty.
