Please notice the follow tips before using
Split-Type vacuum lids are made to release pressure by venting air from the jar during processing and cooling. When the lid does not ventz pressure build-up warps the lids and may prevent a good seal.
There are several potential reasons for this to occur:
1. Applying the bands too tightly causes buckling that is usually apparent immediately after processing.
2. Boiling the lids before use softens the sealing compound too much which may prevent venting and result in a buckle or no seal.
3. Food spoilage due to incorrect processing produces gases inside the jar that force the lid to buckle or unseal.
How to make the lids sealed?
1. Overtightening bands can prevent air from venting out of the jars, resulting in buckled lids or seal failure.
2. After processing, do not retighten bands immediately after processing since this may break the seal that is forming.

These canning lids work great for me. If there was any that didn't seal it might have been one or two and that's very standard when canning. Great price, great quality, worth the purchase.

Having always used ball or golden harvest lids, I was skeptical of value vs durability on these lids. I am no longer skeptical but very pleased. I actually reordered and now have a pretty good stash to get me through the upcoming harvest/canning season (yes, it's only January, but you've gotta plan these things). I think I originally ordered these in September, started using them around mid-month, and have been randomly checking seals every couple of weeks or so. So far, no failures -- both pressure canned and water bathed.So many times, you see reviews on items like this comparing about how thin and flimsy the lids are and how they buckle under pressure. These are actually pretty thick, possibly slightly thicker than my normal go-to's. I've experienced no indication of buckling so far. I've only waited to review so I could give the seals time to tell me what they were going to do.I've included a picture of turkey broth I did early December, holding it by the lid, so you can get an idea of thickness and durability.All in all, for the cost and having 200 reliable lids on my shelf ready to go is a win in my book.

Slightly too small for vacuum sealing mason jars. It doesn’t lip over the mouth of the jar locking it in place. I am having to temporarily tape the lid in place, but still not always getting a seal. I did a size comparison. The lid nests inside a true Ball lid, but a Ball lid is slightly larger and does not nest inside this lid. This lid is too small. Not even going to attempt using these when canning under pressure or water bath canning.

I pressure canned the meat from two huge turkeys today and these lids got a good seal on every jar. The sealant rubber is clean and not globby like other lids can be. Much less than Ball brand and just as good. I think I’ll enjoy being able to have bulk boxes of lids on hand for when I find great sales.

These lid are not for long term storage, one month and there already starting to rust! Protective coating is not thick enough!
