The base portion of these clips is held in place with friction and it falls or pulls off very easily. Poor design. Not durable at all. Total waste of money, fortunately not a lot of money.

Below average quality and the rear end of it was made as if not to be used. Why give the opening when cannot be used but by force !Also you will get no documentation if the Einstein who designed it had some different way of approaching it's rear end for use. After all it's useless if it does not lend itself for the purpose it was made for.

These are mini-grabbers. If you aren't familiar with mini-grabbers I suggest you look them up elsewhere. They are very similar in functionality to a retracting oscilloscope probe tip. When looking for these I also considered buying either the gold standard (and priced accordingly) pomona's, or some of the ones that attach to 2.54mm dupont connector jumpers. I opted for these because they allow you to use a heavier cable that you can solder on for a reliable connection. There is nothing more frustrating than spending time debugging a circuit only to discover that you have bad probe connections. The way these connect is there is a flat copper/brass/plate tab underneath the removable plastic cover on the top. This tab has slots in it that you can use to attach wire. The slot is narrow enough that you can just pull the insulated wire into it without actually stripping any wire. I wrapped it though both slots, around the tab, then soldered the end. This gives very good mechanical and electrical connection. These feel like they will survive normal use. They will probably give out when I accidently set something heavy on them, step on them etc, but at this price point thats what I would expect. If I had bought the Pomona's then I would have to feel bad when I accidently break or lose them.

I was building a board to do a composite video modification on a game console, and needed a quick way to probe around the board to look for the best un-amplified video source. These test hooks soldered up easily to 22AWG stranded wire and clamp to the parts under test with a strong grip. The actual metal "hook" part is a little wide, which can make it tricky to hook resistors that are close to the board, but I'd rather have that than a hook that bends out of shape or breaks.Even if you don't need these right now, you probably will in the near future, so grab a set to have them on hand.

They work as advertised and have a somewhat stiff springiness. My wire gauge was too thick so I drilled out the wire hole to fit the wire. I like that this comes with 20, so I can modify and ruin them as much as I want. The plastic feels cheap but these aren't made for looks. The plastic didn't melt at all when I soldered the wire into the hole.
