I bought a cheaper pair to test along side these, and the cheaper pair won out by a lot. Not terrible; very mediocre. I was most disappointed by the build quality and design clunkiness. While they might possibly be superior in the lowest lighting conditions, for bird-watching and day concerts, larger lens diameter is not better. Choose something that's easier to use (lighter) on the go.
