I ordered these for my garden starts this year because I wanted to reduce transplant shock. I am using them instead of the included plastic trays in combination with some self-watering, domed trays that came with their own plastic start trays. I got my first seeds started last weekend and I can already see that at least one has germinated - in FOUR DAYS! I have mixed feelings about them being made of peat because some experts recommend other materials, but I think that it should be fine. They are heavy enough that I think that they will be sturdy up until it is time for transplant. I hope that they break down fast enough after that. They are a nice size.

This kit is great. I started my herbs with it, and the peat containers held up. Good value for the money. And the peat pits come with some mini-tools that were also helpful for planting and later transplanting.

These are nice peet starters. They will work well for my greenhouse this spring.

Disregard the previous review I just made--the order for this came with some hooks I also bought at the same time and it was THOSE screws that came with it that were too soft metal so they stripped or broke off when using. Your product will be fine though will not use now till next year.
