If you are here reading this, you may already know that those original style ignition coils you're looking for for your Kohler DSAI-type engine are hard to find. They've been replaced by different (and yes, cheaper) ones. I had the same experience, and I've bought several pair of them, which all worked, but just not as well as I would have liked. For me at least, the idle was rougher, the engine was harder to start and in general just didn't run as well as it should have. So, I bought these more expensive ones, and they've made all the difference. Changing nothing else, the idle has smoothed out, no more backfiring, easier to start and better all-around performance so far. Now, how well they last may be another story, but if they continue to work as long as my originals did, (about 13 years, 2100 hours) I'll be a happy camper!
