I have usually reached for a muffling ring to tame my drum overtones, but there's plenty of downsides to those. They can lift up off the drum and flop around. They blow away in the wind. If they get a little bent up, they start rattling against the head. And they often flop around in cases. For this reason I keep a pack of drum gels in my little gig-ready case, but I also generally dislike muffling gels. They have to be taken off when you case the drums, because they stick to everything and vice versa. They get dirty and lose their stick. These gels only have sticky surfaces on one side. This solves EVERYTHING. And there's 24 of these bad boys in one pack. Price this against Moongels or Drum Dots and you'll realize just what a great deal this is. You could apply gels to every drum on your kit, plus all your snares, plus your rehearsal kit.I'm ditching the rings and sticking with these little guys (no pun intended). Highly recommended.

These are extremely similar in appearance to other generic gel dots for dampening drum heads that I have. There are four clear zip bags with each containing a sheet with six gel dot dampeners. I've only used a handful of these, so far. One or two will be enough for most heads, depending on various needs and types of drum heads. They work well. The dots are clear and quick to apply when needed. The adhesion is good and, just like with other similar ones, can be cleaned off with a little dish soap and water to renew them.Overall, these are fine. They seem to be pretty much the same as other gel dot dampeners I've used. I don't really use the gel dots on my personal set, but use them everywhere else. They're easy to pull out to apply and not too expensive if they get lost or taken. For these, the price is a little higher when compared to other similar ones. However, they are pretty sticky. Everything else is pretty much the same.

These gels worked out great! They stick well to my drum heads, but also work out great for cymbals and my cow bell. They can be cut up very easily which is helpful when using on a cymbal or cow bell where you only need a little adjustment, or when you need more than one but not two. I particularly like that they are clear. I've seen the colored gels stain drum heads which I don't care for. They come stuck to a card in a zip lock bag. This is easy enough to throw into your stick bag and not have to worry about having them peel off or stick to something in the bag.

These are similar to "Moongel," but not exactly the same. They are extremely sticky on one side, not at all on the other.I'll have to see how they hold up, and whether they retain their ability to grip over the long term. They perform fine presently.

I got these gels for damping down the drum kit in our studio. They worked perfectly on drum heads and cymbals to calm down the ring that you get with a live kit. The idea in studio recording is that you can add life to the drums in post-production, but if a ring is initially recorded you can never get that off of the recording. So we deaden our drums and cymbals and then add reverb and such to add life back into it.These gels worked as well as the most popular brand and were a lot more affordable for 24 of them. There were enough for us to also deaden the bottom heads of the toms to eliminate more resonance. The gels are easily removed, washed, and re used.

I don't expect too much from dampeners, just that they work as expected, are easy to apply/remove, and last a decent amount of time. They dampen ring time and cut high overtones as expected, and they are easy to apply and remove. I've had them on for about two weeks and had no problems with them coming off so far. I like that they are clear and they have adhered to both coated white and clear heads (Evans EC2S). The material is not the same as Moongel (it's not stretchy) and the top surface is not sticky. I have pulled them off and reapplied them and they still seem to stick just fine. Not sure how many times you can do that, though. They also seem to be a little thicker and perhaps more dense than gels, and are a little stronger in effect for the same size.

I have used many different dampeners over the years but I tend to lose them because children find them fun to play with. These are as good as if not better than the name brand dampeners. I like the clear better than blue because it doesn't stain your heads. The adhesive is fantastic on these! Its stays in place through the heaviest of metal. On top of that it comes with so many of them and each set of six is stored in its own bag to keep them clean. These are an amazing value.

I'm a band teacher, not a drummer, but I teach dozens of percussionists, and have drumsets that get heavy use in both of my band rooms. These do a great job of dampening some of the unwanted vibrations "just enough" without removing the true tone of the drum. They're small enough that you don't really need to cut them, just add or subtract (one of our snares sounds great with only 1, another requires 3 to get just the right tone). My only complaint is that they magically disappear in my band room (because my room is shared with another teacher, they're often missing the next day, having been peeled off by students "exploring" in the percussion area where they shouldn't be). If this were for a personal kit, I'd keep using them in a heartbeat. For my use in a band room setting, I'll keep using tone rings as those have proven less likely to walk off.
