Though not this particular model, I had 2 Goodman 2.5 T R410a systems installed in my house by their local distributor 12 yrs. ago. This included everything from circuit breakers, to cutoffs, to thermostats. The installation was carefully and correctly done (EXTREMELY important). I was present and observing for the whole process. I had modifications to the systems that included larger filters, TXVs to replace piston metering devices and sight glasses with moisture detectors. The charges included a transferrable 10 yr. parts and labor warranty. The total cost was $6,200. During these 12 yrs., the systems have performed flawlessly. In addition to perfect installation, I think an important factor in reliability is that I never allow anyone to touch the systems...no "tune-ups", refrigerant measurements, etc. I keep the area around the condensers clean, make sure there is good air flow, use no commercial cleaners, keep bleach-containing things away from the evaporator coils, do not exceed MERV 8 filters, etc. I had my own AC and refrigeration license and so was certain of the installer's competence. I would not hesitate to choose Goodman again. The metal cases on my units are a little thin, in my opinion, but there have been no case issues so far. I am careful not to scratch them.

Purchased this unit to replace a thirty year old unit and had professional installed. I am very happy with the price compared to my local supply houses. It arrived within three days of placing my order. I was impressed when my installer measured to air temperature coming from vent at 52 degrees. I would recommend this central unit. I also purchased the heat strip kit. We will see how it preforms this winter. However, in Louisiana we rarely need to run the heater.

I got a company to install it in my office and unfortunately the unit was broken and not working at all. I paid 3K to install a unit that's not working!

Do not buy a Goodman. They are garbage units that the company will not stand behind even if you purchase through a distributor and have a professional install. Units bought online come with no warranty at all.
