What immediately attracted me to this hose was that the fittings at either end are NOT molded on, but actual separate fittings attached with regular hose clamps so they can be removed. That is a BIG PLUS! My old one had the molded on fitting where the foot valve attaches break off. Having removable fittings means that one can shorten up the hose to the actual length needed. A shorter hose means less frictional resistance to water flow. (A damaged area near either end of the hose could be cut away and the rest of the rest of the hose salvaged.)The downsides to this hose are that it has a pungent vinyl odor (Which will no doubt dissipate.) and it arrived tightly coiled and very stiff. I wasn't expecting to engage in a wrestling match with my new hose! I've laid the hose out in the hot sun, with weights in the form of 1' x 1' patio stepping stones and that seems to be helping. I expect the hose will "relax" after a few hot days., but the stiffness might be a real problem for people who don't live in an area with hot, sunny days.I've rated this as 4-Stars, but if I had the option, I think 3-1/2 Stars would be more accurate.

I got this to pump out water from from a water tank that's unfortunate sit lower than the usual drain lines. I used to use a regular garden hose and those sometimes don't work well because they flop around. This solution with solid PVC is fantastic. The build quality excellent. No problem with leaks and the fittings are all good. My only concern is storage, as it's not soft tubing, it take a bit more work to coil back up.

This hose looks pretty substantial and I haven’t used it yet due to pump issues, but I was presented with an awful chemical smell from manufacturing when I opened the plastic. And I’m a rancher, around manure and stuff all the time but it has been a while since I coughed and left the area due to a smell being so bad.

Every little bit counts. I didn't really think it will help from having a 1/2 inch line and going to a 1 inch hose. I was able to fill a 245 IBC tote in just 40 minutes instead of an hour which was unexpected and quite nice.I don't know what the material is made from but it looks and feels like silicone but it is impervious from crushing and yet somehow and can flex and turn on a dime, it's quite amazing.Special note on what come with this product : it has a syphin filter at the end and the filter has a built in check valve. An added nice touch

We have an old handdug well behind the barn and like to use that to water parts of the garden when the water level is high enough. This connected up directly to a 1.6 HP shallow well pump. The older hose was a smaller diameter and needed a extra adapter. One less part is always nice. This also comes with a better stop check valve which is being held on by a hose clamp and some sort of adhesive. I appreciate the extra effort to keep the valve ending up in the bottom of the well. The hose is a darker color so you don't see it as much - nice. Working as expected and 25 feet is just the right lenght for our well. This should last a long time.
