Mechanism works fine, but orange plastic covers on ratchet lever handles all (4) developed side-to-side cracks almost immediately, all the way through to the metal lever. There's no real operating load on those lever handles, and the Cracks have not developed into gear failure yet, but they'll be heavily duct taped and watched carefully next time I put any load on them. Otherwise great.

Great product. I dont even carry a fold up ladder half the time because this allows me to remove and reattach my extension ladder so quickly. I love the fact that I can have the bed of my truck freed up from not having to have the fold up in there all the time. They are a bit expensive but well worth the investment in my opinion.

I look back to the times that i didnt have these and hate myself for not buying them sooner. makes my life so much easier. I am a contractor so i use these everyday and they are a must have of you do real work. seriously hold material down never worry about anything sliding off your ladder racks when you use these ratchets

Unlike every other TracRac product, this is not easily secured by hand knob.A socket wrench is required to anchor this into position or remove it from the cross rails. Unfortunately, this is not explained in the item description or clearly illustrated.If it were not for this inconvenient surprise, the item might merit 4 stars as it otherwise appears well made and cinches cargo tightly once anchored into the TracRac cross rails.
