Works much better than just a round file. Using this tool I was able to sharpen a chain the best I ever have. Just make sure you buy the correct file to match your chain.

Why didn’t I purchase one of these years ago?! It’s very nice to be able to sharpen a blade in 10 minutes.

Everything but the files are great, put some good files in and you've got a great sharpener.

always I was buying chainsaw chains and have them use once only because I struggle with the sharpening angles and what not.I'm not the best sharpening guy with this sharpener but at least I can get a bit sharp and use a little longer the chain, if not, at least l will make others think that I know what I'm doing if the see me using this file. For the price, and colors I'm happy with it

A Chinese copy of the original stihl . Maybe better if you use quality files in it .

MS250- Daily use fall and winter. Make sure you get the correct size, follow the directions, and this thing works! I've hand sharpened for many years with a single hand file. Dozens of chains and I've still never mastered the art of sharpening. This simple, inexpensive tool just reclaimed the life of over dozens of old, never to be used again, chains. Its not super heavy duty, but for the price... My chains I use now are the sharpest I've ever had, with the exception of a new one. Also this only takes off the minimal amount of metal to get it right. Knocks down the rakers perfectly too. I was getting 3-5 sharpenings per chain, paying at a shop. For the cost of one of those, I now have chains (without stretch) that will last years instead of months. This turned what was always a struggle into a breeze. Don't hesitate if you've struggled sharpening like I have. This is what you need to get that chain eating through the wood again. Couldn't be happier.

I have a sharpener already and was buying another for a friend. These sharpers work great for someone who is not very accurate with a hand file. As you can tell in the pictures, the guide bars on the sharpener should rest on the teeth. (Circled in red) The OEM .325 style in the middle picture is sitting on both teeth. The new one is only sitting on the right tooth in left picture. (Hard to see in the pictures) You can see the bars are spaced further apart for a 3/8" tooth set, not the .325 it is advertised for. I see someone posted on the problem before. I thought Amazon would be sending the correct one now. This one is going back.Hard to give it an accurate rating. It works great, IF you get the correct one.
