Worst buy ever. Charger works but both batteries have gone out in less than a month. I don’t recommend this.

I only have a small number of aftermarket (not OEM) batteries for my various cordless tools, but many more aftermarket laptop batteries over the years. I have not noticed significant differences in performance, but significant differences in price. These batteries appear to be just as good in household use as my factory Ryobi ones. How long they last, and warranty support if they prematurely fail - won't be able to comment for a while, hopefully never! I have only had one battery fail on me - a Ryobi that failed under warranty and was quickly replaced.The features of this kit I really like are that the charger is multi voltage (9.6-18v) and multi chemistry (Li-Ion, Ni-MH, and Ni-Cad), so it should charge any battery with the Ryobi connector format. The best feature is that the batteries have a LED charge level indicator - it seems this is more common on the newer Ryobi batteries, but wasn't several years ago. Not big deal if you are at home, but if you are taking to offsite work, can be a PITA if grab an almost dead batter by mistake.The batteries are heavy due to larger capacity - sometimes this is a good thing (improves balance and resisting torque), but can also be very tiring if doing a lot of work overhead. I like having a mix for different tools / uses. Since most tools come packaged with the small batteries, this is a good way to add some bigger ones. I do not have a way to test actual capacity, so I am assuming they are the rated 6Ah / 108Wh.I received this for evaluation through Vine and at the time of writing this review, the item is currently out of stock, so from a value perspective, I can't make any significant comment. At the time of ordering, it was valued at about $80, which was a good (but not great) price for two large batteries and a charger. You should compare with other packages as well as any promo deals Ryobi is putting on - sometimes they have great deals, other times not so much.

My old batteries wouldn’t charge. I bought these as a replacement. They last a long time and charge quickly.
