Had to use a 1/4” shim to hold the repurposed 1/2” shelf I used and didn’t open wide enough for the pet gate we have — also doesn’t seem stiff or long enough to support a gate — thin foam rubber glued on strips to prevent slippage and scratching I am using mine to keep things from falling off a shelf in my garage but that’s not the best use of these brackets — most likely will be fabricating something that will fit better to use at the top of our steps — dogs belong to Daughter and only visit once a week or so — don’t want to attach anything for this limited use — if you have the right situation to use something like this I say order these

I use an old wooden shutter for a dog gate. I have a lot of vintage in my house and I just love that the shutters look cool and are very practical. The problem is that sometimes my little dog jumps on them or someone tries to step over them and down they fall. I've been using heavy objects to hold them up, like plants in ceramic plant pots but that takes up a lot of space and they are prone to falling over too! I've thought about attaching L-brackets but I'd have to screw into the shutters (boo) and the metal is ugly and would scratch up the floor (double boo).I didn't think they sold supports by themselves that are meant to hold up a safety gate, but here they are . . . and I am so excited! So far they are working great. The shutter and the supports look like they were meant to be together. I bought these because I wanted to have more stability in my stand up gate. But they don't work, they don't provide any extra stability and just slide around

I used this to stand up a white board. Works well and sturdy if you get it to fit snug.

These support feet are very solid and strong. They won't mess up for sure because this is a strong metal. The gates easily sit in the opening of these support feet, and the design of the feet make the gate have a great stable base. Good price for making sure your gates are tipping over anymore.
