They work, but the metal spikes do bend. Was walking the dog after snowfall and was mostly on snowy surfaces, but some the spikes bent while I was on the sidewalk and pavement.

I recently moved north from Florida, so I want to be prepared for a possible ice storm this winter. Of course, ice crampons are on my list of must-haves. I have explored several options now, and there are a few things I really like about these over others. First, they are pretty lightweight and can easily be removed and packed in my purse once I get back inside (I have a little storage bag I can slip them into.) Second, they are stretchy enough that I can use them on my womens size 8 boots, and my son can use them on his mens size 11s.The metal cleats themselves seem sturdy and durable and are a good size to tackle the ice. I appreciate that these come in a 2-pack for the same price as many other single pairs of ice cleats. The main support is made out of what is basically a very thick rubber band. I have a latex allergy, so I reached out to the company to make sure they were safe for me. Within a day I received a detailed reply. According to the company, “These cleats are made of synthetic rubber [TPE] which is more durable and resistant to wear and tear than natural rubber, making it ideal for use in high-stress applications. In addition, TPE is recyclable and more environmentally friendly.” (You can see the full text of my question and their answer in the listing history.)In sum, I am really pleased with these cleats and am looking forward to trying them on the ice.

These cleats are OK and was able to get them over my size 10.5 winter boots with some adjustment. Installing took me about 3 minutes. There isn't any way to tighten them - they relay only on the elastic band around the outside to stay tight. As a result, I would not recommend these for any intense hiking, climbing, etc. On the same note, they would presumably have a looser fit on smaller size shoes. I got these for some additional traction walking on ice for ice fishing.
