These have no structural stability at the base - there is no floor to this post base. It is only a metal sheath that a 4x4 can go into. I thought it would have a metal floor that would allow a lag bolt to attach to wood. Nope, this only allows 8 normal-sized screws to be screwed into the floor in the visible holes, and some into the post. That's not going to hold anything of substance. Of course, I missed my return window by 5 days before realizing I can't use these. Sigh.
