We live in the country and recently, while I was using my backhoe to tear up a big patch of cactus in the way of building a fence, I came across a buried saucepan with a missing handle. It is a famous brand, well made and reasonably heavy with several layers of metal. In fact, it looked no worse for wear after its several decades in the dirt.Thing was, I needed a handle for it, saw these replacements and ordered. Turns out, the bakelite handle was just right, fit the pot perfectly, and even the provided screw went into the welded-on nut. Bueno! And since this is a 2 pack, dirt-cheap at that, I have a spare back for this or another pot.

They look good, and the reason why I got them is because some of my pan handles were wobbly at the connection point. I figured time for new handles and this would be perfect.Upon inspection, I was satisfied with the design and build quality. I have no complaints on the product itself.I found the perfect sized Torx bit from my toolbox and attemped to remove the old screws slowly by rotating counterclockwise with my hex shank hand driver. they felt locked in...no heads stripped either.Well, what happened was all my frying pan screws turned, but weren't unthreading, they just twisted off at the 360 degree.Sure the handles were off, but even hammering the headless screw thread stump flat enough to clamp visegrips on it, and using heat, could not remove the threaded point where the new screws would go.then for one pan, I tried to drill out the broke off screw...I just broke my bit...I was prepared to re-thread, but the whole thing ended up in the recycling bin.So I now need to buy a new pan set for my kitchen. Not sure what to do with the handles that convinced me to ruin my old pans.It is kind of comical, but if your pan screws loosen, then pick these handles up.if your pan handle screws won't budge...then leave them on and start shopping for new pansbefire you replace them. This, ideally, is for someone with a semi-new pan that ruined their handle so the screw on their pan will come off with no trouble. If you used your frying pans for years, that screw is not coming out. the only thing keeping it together is rust. my junk was too old to rejuvenated with the handles.
