This pot holder melted and crusted onto my cast iron pan on the first use, which means it’s made of synthetic/plastic material that looks like cotton. Do not buy!

The interior has some sort of plastic components that melted once I picked up a cast iron pan. Thought this was what they were for, so not a great use for that.

These are really nice. The quality feels solid, and they do exactly what they’re supposed to do—protect your hands from getting scorched by hot cast iron handles. I even tested one out by grabbing a super hot pan from the inside rim (don’t recommend unless you’re feeling brave), and it held up like a champ. They’ve got a good, snug fit and a non-slip grip that actually works—no awkward slipping or sliding while you’re moving a heavy skillet. The little hanging loop is smartly placed too—it’s sewn down over the mitt instead of sticking out at the top, so it stays out of the way and doesn’t get caught on anything.Bonus: they’re machine washable and come out looking good as new, which is more than I can say for some silicone covers I’ve used that started to melt or warp.Solid purchase if you’re tired of playing hot potato with your pans.

These are a little oversized when compared to some other ones I already had, but they work just as good. Handle covers are almost essential when using cast iron.
