Seems to remove fish scales as easy as any method. The handle makes it easy to hold and the business end removes scales with minimal damage to the meat. Having two lets you have one on the boat and one for back home. I like these.

These descalers are made of sturdy stainless steel. They hold their shape well. The grip is pretty comfortable. Able to hold it well, make using it much easier and faster. I buy my fish from Asian market, where they do clean them and descale already, but they always miss spot around the head and belly, so I'm glad to have this at home to finish the job better. Work well. Great design.

I tried using the scaler on fish with both large and small scales. It worked functionally but caused scales to fly in all directions, which was quite annoying. It made removing large scales easier but required more time and effort for small scales.

I really didn't know what to think of it at first but we really like it. They are both really heavy and seem heavy duty. We have no hesitation that these scalers will last a long long while. In our house, we have medium, large, and x-large hands; these scalers fit great in our hands. Considering I use my dominant hand all day long every day, it is great that these tools are ergonomically friendly. It worked just as advertised. We definitely won't be going back to our old ways of scaling anymore lol. Cleaning them was a breeze too! I also like how we have the option of handing this tool by the end of it.

This is well made. The steel feels sturdy, the handle is easy to grip. It’s the right size, about as long as a table knife. I know it will do a good job of scaling fish and make it easier to cook. For the price, this is a pretty good deal.
